Folks, it’s only July but yes, you heard it right, fall makeup collections are already slowly making their way into your favorite department stores. While I was on a trip to southern California last week, I spotted Chanel’s Fall Collection at Saks.  Naturally I ran straight for the testers and played with the products like a giddy little girl.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’m far from ready for fall but new makeup always gets me excited.  So without further delay, let’s get right to it!

Please note that all of the pictures were taken inside the department store so lighting may be slightly off but I did try my best to capture the shades as best as I can.

This collection has 2 eyeshadow palettes: 1 quad (Tisse D’Automne) and 1 quint (Entrelacs).  If you think that Entrelacs looks similar to Charming from the holiday collection, you may be right in some ways.  They’re not exactly dupes because there are some varying shades but I felt the formula for Charming was a bit smoother compared to Entrelacs. This one is also slightly warmer than Charming.

Tisse D’Automne contains a khaki olive, pink, burnt brown, and what looks like a deep dark green/grey.  It’s your standard set of autumn colors.

There is also a blush name Alezane that is quite pretty.

Swatches of the blush and Tisse D’Automne:

There are 4 eyeliners called Ardent, Erable, Feuilles, and Pomme De Pin.

Two new rouge coco shines name Temeraire and Melancolie are also included.

Both Temeraire and Melancolie have shimmers in them.

I was enticed by Ardent, Erable, and Temerire Rouge Coco Shine.  I usually don’t wear dark lipstick shades but Temeraire and its gorgeous shimmers really had me thinking twice.

Here’s another view for you of the 4 eyeliners.

For those who like Rouge Allure Velvets, La Bouleversante is a great matte red while Pensive is a Rouge Allure re-promote.

Glossimer lovers can drool over Beige Star and Chene Rouge.

The glossimers go well by themselves or on top of the corresponding lip colors.

There are also 2 new Illusion D’Ombre called Rouge Gorge and Fleur de Pierre.  New Moon is making a comeback as well!

See swatches and review of New Moon here. Both Fleur de Pierre and Rouge Gorge are surprisingly wearable.  Rouge Gorge looks scary in the pot as a bright orange but when swatch, the pink shimmers in it makes it less orange and more coral pink.  This will look great with Fleur de Pierre or blended with a  brown eyeshadow.  Fleur de Pierre is perfect for a smokey dark blue eye look.  Both Illusion d’Ombre have shimmers but are subtle enough not for you to look like a disco ball.  New Moon is a re-release and that one is super glittery compared to the other 2.

Last but not least, we have 3 new nail polish shades in Chataigne (deep chocolate brown), Ecorce Sanguine (coral red with gold shimmers), and Vert Obscur (a deep blue green).

Overall, I like the deep dark shades in Chanel’s Fall 2015 Collection.  I feel the collection is cohesive and very fitting for a transition from summer to fall.  With that being said, I wasn’t particularly blown away by the collection as a whole.  I didn’t find the quint as buttery smooth compared to Charming and I wished that both Chataigne and Vert Obscure included some shimmers in them. I did however, fall in love with the darker Rouge Coco Shine lip color Temeraire and find Rouge Gorge interestingly wearable.  Out of all the items, I think below are my must-have recommendations:

If you’re new to Chanel: Definitely check out the blush Alezane, both Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks, the Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows, and the eyeliners.

Chanel veterans/collectors: Ecorce Sanguine nail polish, Temeraire RCS lipstick, Ardent and Erable eyeliners.

My personal must-haves: Ecorce Sanguine nail polish and Temeraire RCS lipstick

If you’re interested in checking out the fall collection, visit your local Saks counter and Macy’s has been posting the items online for purchase.

What’s on your wish list from this collection? If you had to walk away with only one item, which would it be?
